Our mission is to create the most beautiful, most environmentally friendly and socially responsible temporary tattoos possible to educate and inspire our clients to live and work for a sustainable tomorrow.
Temporary tattoos are a great way to get some ink to express yourself without having to make a major commitment. Tatteco is like any other temporary tattoo company, with one major difference: our tattoos and packaging are made of paper.
Our sustainable vision
As of June 2019, the month we launched Tatteco, all the temporary tattoo companies use plastic, both in the tattoo’s clear sheet and packaging, with potentially harmful consequences for the environment. The plastic film used in most temporary tattoos can only be decomposed very slowly if they end up wasted in nature, and could enter the body of many water animals and birds. In this way, they can also reach the human organism, so you can get an idea of how harmful the plastic waste in the seas is to us all. The UV rays and the salt water release many toxic substances, the effects and consequences of which are not yet known.
The plastic pollution of the world ocean is a gigantic problem not only for the water animals but also for us humans. An estimated 100 to 150 million tonnes of plastic waste is distributed in the oceans and seas. This amount of garbage is increasing by another 8 million tons of plastic waste annually.
In Tatteco, we have acknowledged the severity of this problem, and we strive to eliminate the use of plastics in our products and packaging, enabling us to create beautiful and real-looking temporary tattoos without compromising the well-being of the environment. Our packaging is made by paperboard so it's 100% recyclable and environmentally friendly.
