Two Week Tattoos
Our semi-permanent tattoos — which we call Two Week Tattoos — are applied just like our regular temporary tattoos, but they work differently.
Instead of transferring a visible layer onto the surface of your skin, they transfer a transparent, plant-based formula containing Genipa Americana extract. The formula gradually stains the upper layer of the skin without needles, developing over several hours into a natural-looking dark blue or black tattoo.
The result looks remarkably similar to permanent ink, but gradually fades as your skin naturally renews itself.
How to Apply
1. Prepare your skin
Wash the area thoroughly and make sure the skin is clean, dry and free from oils, lotions or creams. For best results, gently exfoliate beforehand.
2. Apply the tattoo
Carefully peel away the semi-transparent protective sheet and place the tattoo face down on your skin.
3. Wet the backing
Press a wet cloth firmly against the backing paper for approximately 15 seconds.
4. Peel away the paper
Gently remove the backing paper.
Don't worry if your tattoo is almost invisible at first — that's exactly how it should look. The stain develops gradually over the following hours and can take up to 24 hours to reach its final dark blue or black colour.
How Long Does It Last?
Our Two Week Tattoos can last up to approximately two weeks, although the exact duration varies from person to person.
Placement, skin chemistry, body temperature, washing and exfoliation can all affect how quickly the tattoo fades. Areas exposed to frequent friction, washing or exfoliation will generally fade faster.
With particularly careful aftercare, the stain may remain visible for longer.
Aftercare
For the best possible result:
-
Avoid showering, swimming or applying moisturiser to the area for at least 8 hours after application.
-
Avoid excessive scrubbing, exfoliating, oil-based products and prolonged exposure to saltwater, as these can make the stain fade more quickly.
-
The tattoo will continue developing for up to 24 hours after application. During this period, the developing pigment may transfer to another area of skin if the two areas remain in contact. We recommend keeping the tattoo covered with clothing during the first night.
Where Should I Apply It?
Body temperature plays an important role in how quickly and intensely the stain develops.
Warmer areas with good circulation generally produce a quicker and darker result. Although this varies from person to person, areas such as the hands, inner arms, feet, ankles, abdomen and neck often work particularly well.
For the longest-lasting result, we recommend choosing an area that is relatively oil-free, doesn't experience excessive stretching and can be kept clean without frequent rubbing.
Ingredients
Genipa Americana Extract, Polyethylacrylate, Polyvinyl Butyral, Sucrose Acetate Isobutyrate, Dipropylene Glycol Dibenzoate, Cellulose Acetate Butyrate.
Frequently Asked Questions
What if I have a reaction to the ink?
As with any cosmetic product applied to the skin, some people may be sensitive to one or more ingredients.
If irritation, redness or discomfort occurs, discontinue use. If symptoms persist or become severe, seek advice from a healthcare professional.
Is it safe for children?
Two Week Tattoos should not be used on children under 36 months. We recommend them for children aged 10 and over.
Can they be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding and have any concerns about using cosmetic products on your skin, we recommend consulting your healthcare professional before use.
Can I apply one to my face?
We do not recommend applying Two Week Tattoos to particularly sensitive areas of the body, including the face or genital area, as sensitive skin may be more prone to irritation.
Do they work on all skin tones?
Yes. The final appearance and intensity of the stain can vary depending on individual skin tone, chemistry and placement.
Is this henna or jagua?
No.
Two Week Tattoos work in a similar way to natural henna in that the formula temporarily stains the epidermis — the uppermost layer of the skin — rather than sitting on top of it like a conventional temporary tattoo.
However, the resulting colour is different. Henna typically produces reddish-brown tones, whereas our Two Week Tattoos develop into a dark blue to black stain.
They are not black henna and do not use PPD to create the dark colour.
They are also different from traditional jagua gel. Our formula uses Genipa Americana extract rather than the complete fruit pulp found in conventional jagua preparations, giving the product a longer shelf life and making it easier to store.
Do Two Week Tattoos expire?
Yes. You can find the best-before date in the bottom-right corner of the packaging.
The ink has a shelf life of approximately 6 months and should be stored in a cool, dry place.
Using the tattoo after its best-before date does not necessarily mean it will be harmful, but the staining performance may gradually become weaker. For the best colour development, we recommend using it before the indicated date.
Are they vegan and cruelty-free?
Yes. Two Week Tattoos contain no animal-derived ingredients and are cruelty-free.
Are they gluten-free?
Yes.
Are they halal or kosher?
Our tattoos are breathable and water-permeable.
Religious requirements and interpretations can vary, so we recommend deciding whether the product is suitable according to your own beliefs and practices.
